By This review is from: XtremeMac IPC-TA8-30 TuffWrap Plus for iPod Classic 80GB - Black/Gray (Electronics) The silicone portion fits snugly, but the screen protector is hard to apply and scratches easily. The click wheel protector fell off after 24 hours.
The box points to the web site for documentation, but there doesn't appear to be any for this case. I really just bought it for the silicone portion, so I'm happy with the purchase. I cut a screen protector from an old Sony Clie down to size, and it works better than the protector provided. If you're looking for total protection, though, there may be better choices. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: XtremeMac IPC-TA8-30 TuffWrap Plus for iPod Classic 80GB - Black/Gray (Electronics) It's not rocket science, but instructions would have been nice. The box says to look on their site for instructions. I did, and there aren't any.
The screen and wheel protectors stick via some kind of resin. Unfortunately, the screen protector has it on both sides, so it's hard to clean. Also, bubbles form between the screen and the protector, and it's impossible to get them out. The clip doubles as a sort of kickstand. To get it into kickstand mode, you really need to push it together hard. To get it out, you need to squeeze it quite hard. I imagine that doing much of this would break the clip (which does not seen particularly sturdy anyway). Anyway, it's going back to Amazon. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Esquire (Denver, CO United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: XtremeMac IPC-TA8-30 TuffWrap Plus for iPod Classic 80GB - Black/Gray (Electronics) Cons: Does not fit my 80 GB Video iPod (which Apple calls classic - maybe XtremeMac means something different by classic?). The front was very distorted due to the case not being deep enough and I couldn't stretch it even with some pretty serious manhandling. ----- No instructions. You can figure things out but simple instructions would be less aggravating, esp for the beltclip -- it wasn't like other clips I've used, it has a attached smaller piece that you move to remove or replace the clip rather than moving the entire clip
Pros: Nice simple design. The material feels pleasant and sturdy (see manhandling comment above). The grip bumps on the side are a nice touch. Also like the understated colors and the lack of extraneous/decorative knobs. Can access the ports easily (The hold switch "opening" wasn't open. Don't know if you punch it out or can push the switch through the rubber). I bought this originally because you can remove the protective screens for...Read more |
