I purchased this case from a retail store - I won't mention the name, but it rhymes with Shmarget. One of the pesky things about mobile phones is that you use them to make and answer calls from time to time. And the thing about the iPhone is that, rather than hard buttons, you have a touchscreen to control the phone's functions. When I started having problems with my phone while in this case, I did a bit of research. Wisely, the folks at Apple built in a "proximity sensor," located to the left of the earpiece. This detects when the phone is close to the face and shuts off the touchscreen so that "buttons" are not activated by the face, as well as preserving the iPhone's precious battery life. Seriously don't. The design is flawed. You will not be able to shut your phone off while it is in this case. Unless you really feel like cutting the ear hole longer to accommodate the light sensor it's just not going to work right.
Other than that it's a great case, but what's the point if it makes your phone malfunction?
