After consulting the forums, I ordered the Quik Tek 9x12 Dry Pak, but wasn't thrilled that it was so much bigger than my Kindle. I saw the Trendy Digital waterproof case, but noticed that the website said that product wasn't shipping until April 20th (2 days after I left!). Just to be sure, I sent the company an email, just asking if they could let me know if the ship date moved up at all, since that was the cover I really wanted. First thing Monday morning, I received an email from Mark in customer service, saying that they had a handful of the product in an early shipment for product reviewers, but given that I was leaving the country before the ship date, they'd be happy to let me have one of those few! And they upgraded my shipping so I could be sure to get it on time! Now THAT'S customer service!

Yes, it is just basically a super solid ziplock bag, but I don't care. I read my Kindle why sitting in a pool drinking margs in Cabo San Lucas and you didn't. My girlfriend also could not stop making fun of me. I have no idea why the decided that this product needed a strap to wrap around your neck. What is the possible point of that? Looking like a bigger geek? It is bad enough that I have to remember to pack 24 different chargers every time I go on vacation for my Kindle, Laptop, Phone, DS, Ipod, etc. but now I am wearing a plastic Kindle protector around my neck? That is just a little much.
I don't have any fancy video to add (although I certainly watched that review pre-purchase and then demonstrated the same thing to any friends who would watch). The one slightly annoying thing is it is hard to slide the power button when the case is on... oh well, I was reading my kindle in a pool! How cool is that?!?!?! So, I went ahead to get this waterproof case from them and used in my recent trip. I am quite pleased with how the case serves its purpose. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to bring the Kindle to the beach. The case has a very simple, yet effective design to function as a waterproof case. Getting the Kindle into the case, you simply unsnap the two snaps at the top and open the two rows of closure (similar to heavy duty zip lock type). Once the kindle is inside, you seal the closure and snap. It is sealed securely. The whole thing is simple and straightforward. While inside the case, the Kindle remains fully readable and all the side buttons and keyboard are fully functional. The five-way stick is less accessible, which I expected in this waterproof environment. I tested the waterproof feature on the case and it work fine. The contents inside the case are all dry my test. In all, I think...Read more |
