I do believe it is thanks to this case that my iPod Nano, which looks so very fragile without a case despite its reported toughness, has lasted the six months I've had it...I wouldn't say it gets much abuse, but it knocks around in my pocket all the time and has been dropped on a few occasion - and this case has absorbed every bit of it nicely. Also the rubber case provides good grip when the iPod is on a desk or table so it won't slip off accidentally.
My only complaint about this case - and it's not really just this case, but all rubber ones - is that gunk and crumbs tend to stick to the rubber. It's not really a problem - just a small cosmetic thing - so it's not really worth complaining, but I just thought I'd mention that.
I can see my iPod lasting for a very long time in this case. I would definitely recommend it, because many other cases only provide scratch protection, while this one provides that AND rugged bump and fall protection as well.

It was a pain to get the iPod into the case, and then I couldn't really use the controls very well when it was in. I think I used it for about a day.

We bought a iPod nano 3G for our son for Christmas this year and wanted something that would protect it. I haven't seen him drop it yet but I'm sure he has and seems to protect it quite well. Plus it gives you easy access to the earphone jack and you can dock it without removing the case. Love It!
