Speck CandyShell Lemondrop Liquorice Crystal Case for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Black/Yellow)

Comment: I love the color combination. It was quickly sold out and is now impossible to find. I wanted to replace mine when the thin strip at the bottom broke (a common complaint with CandyShell cases). I wrote Speck for a replacement and all I could get was a different color combination for an additional $20. I thought about it for a few days.

I contemplated just cutting the strip off, then came up with a brilliant solution. The strip was broken right in the middle. I cut the rubber portion about 1/4" to the side of the break. Then I took some black heat-shrink tubing, about 1", and slipped it over the strip. Zapped it with my heat gun and it looks like it was always like that. It also gives another cue as to which end is up.

Comment: I have this case for both the iTouch and my iPhone (the iPhone case is slightly larger). All the reviews for the Speck Candy Shell are spot on - all the protection you need and none of the cheap rubber case/awkward plastic/hinges ready to break that you don't. It even comes with a screen film so this is all you really need for the iTouch. The holes all line up for charging, headphones, and the rubber switches line up perfectly with the iTouch buttons. One warning though - the iPhone version of this is not compatible with regular headphone minijacks (the tiny one with the apple headphones work though).

Comment: I went to the Apple Store to find out about cases. They had this make/model and the salesperson told me this was the best one for kids in case my ipod was dropped. They didn't have the color I wanted so I purchased it on Amazon. My kids are always on my ipod and have dropped it several times and not a single scratch or problem...it's very durable...I love it!

Comment: Good case. I wish they came in more colors. I'm not sure why "sound quality" is on the form. It's a iPod CASE. The soft inside protects the iPod, the hard outer shell keeps it easy to get into you pocket. I think the iPod Touch alone is actually a little too light, the CandyShell gives it just the right amount extra so that it is easy to grip. My only gripe is that the thin strip of plastic on the bottom cracks. I ended up having to cut it off after it cracked.
