I bought this for my daughter to cover her I pod touch (newest 4 model) that she got in late Sept for her 12th birthday. I'm so glad that speck made these cases. I have one for my I phone 4 and they are much better than most covers. The plastic is VERY hard and VERY tough. Yet it's light weight, fits like a dream!
I have only positive things to say regarding SPECK candy shell covers:
1. VERY lightweight yet VERY durable!!!
2. VERY hard plastic (they don't bend and snap, break, crack. It has truly protected her new I pod TOUCH (glass screen that will shatter when dropped) 100%
I would not want her to drop it, however, if she did, I know that this would ensure that the screen was not shattered.
3. We paid more for a garmin pink cover that connects at the bottom (which my husband found out are shattering some I pod touches!!!) beware!

This case is worth every penny. I am even considering buying another.
After purchasing my new iPod touch, I was disconcerted to find out from the Apple rep that they did not have one case for it in the store. I am someone who does not want to scratch up my iPod considering how much these things are, so I began researching cases online.
There are many types of cases becoming available. I found out most hard shell cases are also hard on the inside. They seem fine until you remove the ipod and find scratches all over it. What good is that? Silicone cases may not scratch the iPod but don't provide as much protection. I also had a silicone case before that left residue all over the chrome back of the iPod...not after a few weeks but months, so I didn't find out until much later.
In contrast, the Speck Candyshell is superb. The thing I like about this case is that it has protection both on the outside AND the inside.

I had the candy-shell for my old iPod touch which was perfect and never had problem. But, there is a serious problem in here. It`s not my fault neither yours but the strip at the bottom of the new case (iPod touch 4G) breaks easily unlike the old model. This stupidly flimsy. I returned mine for the warranty and Speck sent me another type of case because apparently, this case comes defective from the box.
