Incase CL59031 Slider Case For iPhone 1G, Black

The title says it all. I had the inCase slider case on my iPhone when, a little while back, I dropped it while getting onto an elevator. It bounced once and then fell right through the gap between the doors, and down 2 stories to the bottom of the elevator shaft, the bottom of which was solid concrete.

I figured there was no way it would have survived a fall like that. But sure enough, grabbed my wife's cell phone and called my number, and there it was, ringing 20 feet below me! With some help, I retrieved it... the case had a tiny flattened-out spot on one of the corners, but otherwise was in perfect condition, and the iPhone itself was as good as new. Not a scratch!!

So, I can't recommend this case highly enough. It's extremely slim-line, comfortable to hold, looks good, and does its job really well.

Yes, that first silicon case that had a similar form factor that they put out was crap. I bought it and it fell apart in around 2 months. I never thought I would buy another inCase product. My partner bought this one and so I checked it out. It is great. Super snug, low profile, and will never come apart accidentally. Nice glossy black finish. If you are looking for a hard case, this is the best I've found.

I had this case for a few months before it started to crack all over the place. I never dropped the phone on anything harder than carpet, so I think the plastic was just too brittle for how tightly it fit the phone. I tried to get it replaced under the product warranty, but after submitting the RMA, I never got a response from Incase.

It's sad to give this case such a poor review, because it really is a nice-looking design and it fits the phone so perfectly. Hopefully Incase figured out the problem with their plastics and have made newer versions with a more resilient material.
