Incase CL56199 Slider Case for iPod Touch 2G, White

For whatever reason, I am a full believer that hard cases are better than silicone ones. This one (plus a screen-protector) has protected my ipod very well from scratches as it's been jumbled about in my purse, but has yet to sustain its first fall (thus four stars instead of five). The white has held up surprisingly well in these past 8 months or so (I was expecting it to get dirty relatively easily, but it has remained glossy and stain-resistant). There are a few scratches, but I'm pretty careful with my technology so it's still relatively new looking. I guess children are the ultimate test!
I love the sleek look that it gives to my ipod.
Bonus: with my last case I wasn't able to directly plug my ipod into my speaker dock (I had to remove the case each time - what a pain). This case is flush enough with the bottom edge that this is no longer a problem.

I love this case !I've bought quite a few cases for my ipod since quality of ipod covers/cases vary so much and I've had a lot that either made my ipod unusable with them or the rubbercase just always falls off in your bag.This case is not like those.Your ipod just slips in like a glove with this case and just tightly hugs your ipod.You still need to buy a screen protector with this case to protect it fully like the "splash mask" a but that even works perfectly with this case,just don't forget to put the screen protector on first because the only downside I can see about this is it kinda hold the ipod so well it is a little hard to get it in and out of the case,but who really wants to take it out of the case much anyway.Also ,you might have trouble plugging in a big headphone jack into the ipod while in the case,but regular plugs work great.I think this the best case I've ever bought hands down.

I love the protection, close fit, and bumper quality of this case. If the kids drop it there is a little cushion quality with the rails inside the case absorbing some of the impact. Unlike it's companion in metallic red or gunflint it is a glossy, not soft finish. This is fine, but it does show scratches to the case more easily. I got this for the ipod the kids use for games and for white noise at night plugged in to the stereo. I have to remove the bottom piece when I plug the ipod into the sound cord. I find this annoying. However, most people won't be plugging their ipod into their stereo speakers on daily basis and will find that this case is awesome. We also put a screen on the front to prevent scratches and the case still slips over that nicely so it is completely protected. Overall, I love that it doesn't get stuck inside my diaper bag as I pull it out and put it in the way a silicone case did in the past. That is the biggest selling point to me right there.
