Griffin 8176-SNVSTRLNB Streamline Sansa View Sport Armband (Black)

I was extremely disappointed in this product. This product claims that it holds the Sansa View player while maintaining access to all the controls of the Sansa View. This couldn't be further from the truth. It is not only way too tight that it takes two people to get it in and out of the case, but it does not permit access to the power switch. Therefore, you cannot turn the product off and on. If you turn the product on and then try and put it in the case, the force of trying to put it in the case turns the power back off again. What purpose does this case serve if you cannot listen to the music because it is impossible to turn it off and on? Furthermore, it does not have access to the charging slot, so you have to remove it from the case to recharge it. Lastly, the circular access hole for the dial is also too small and the sansa view does not even fit right in the case. Save yourself a huge hassle and DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

We researched for a considerable period of time on-line and this product appeared that it would accomodate our Sansa View MP3 player, but once we received the product, we discovered it has several serious flaws. The major flaws are:

1) it is difficult to get the MP3 player in and out of the case, which means that anytime the player is put inside the case or taken out of the case, there is a high risk of damage to the MP3 player.

2) there is no access to the power button, earphone port, and recharge connector port.

3) there is a cutout that provide access to the thumbwheel, but it's so tight-fitted that the wheel would not scroll.

I think there is a lack of QA testing on this product; otherwise someone would have seen the shortcomings. I had two options: return this product or fix it myself. The design for this arm band case is terrible. Once you have a chance to fiddle with it for a bit you'll get the impression the designers had either never seen a Sansa View or didn't have their measurements correct. The first issue you will notice is that the case itself is too small to insert the player. After desperation forces it in it is impossible to remove. Then, not only is there no access to the power/lock switch, the circular access hole for the disk control is too small.

Just the same I needed an arm band so I took a ruler and an Exacto knife to my brand new $30 case and cut about 2" out of the neoprene on the back of the case, and widened the access to the disk control. Bingo! Problems solved. I am still on the hunt for a new case, but for now this one si finally workable. Griffin certainly dropped the ball here.
