Basically its a sticker, but it's made of vinyl with threads in it (like duct tape) so it maintains its shape really well. It's fairly easy to position the GelaSkin on your iPod, but if it's a little crooked it peels up no problem. There's a click-wheel cover which doesn't seem to cause issues with using it...maybe it's a little less sensitive. You can always leave that part of the GelaSkin off. And lastly, as an added bonus, you get a screen protector! It all fits nicely on the iPod classic.
Only con: the edges (the silver bits) are still exposed...which lets them get scratched :( But yeah, give your iPod some personality and protection without adding bulk!! You do need to have a steady hand to get the click wheel pieces to line up, but they are easily removable so I was able to play around with it until I got it just right! I still use a clear plastic case as well since I use my Ipod every day and have to travel with it regularly, but the design shows through the clear case and it's very stylish. It's fairly easy to apply it on the iPod, and if you mess up you can just peel it right off and retry. I think it looks great. To me, it's not to protect my iPod, but to make it look nice and stylish. I still use a clear iPod case so you can see it and it looks pretty damn cool. If you really want to protect your iPod, USE A CASE. Don't rely on on decals to protect from major damages. The decal is only good for minor scratches.
Gotta love the protector screen that comes with it. I can't even tell it's on and it's super easy to apply. |
