GelaSkins are removable vinyl skins for protecting and customizing your portable devices. They feature photo-quality graphics ranging from fine art prints to contemporary urban images designed by our growing family of artists from around the world. GelaSkins protect your iPod with a durable anti-scratch, anti-UV coating. The removable skins are thin enough that they won't interfere with any other accessories (ie. iTrip, the Dock, portable speaker systems). With patented adhesive technology by 3M, GelaSkins remove cleanly when you want to remove them or switch them for another design. All of the skins for the iPod Touch include access to our online gallery of digital wallpaper downloads so the front of your iPod can look as good as the back.

I love the design on this...it reminds me of fine China dinnerware. It does need to be covered with a clear silicone cover, though, because it is slippery enough to let the ipod slide between cushions on a recliner (fortunately mine got caught on the side by the metal inside my chair and didn't hit the floor...but if it had fallen another way the metal in the chair would have scratched my ipod). Anyway, this is good for looks but you could just cut up a big bumper sticker to cover the back of your ipod and then buy a clear silicone case to protect your investment.

Oh, besides looks another plus is that your ipod will still go into a dock because this "skin" (sticker) sticks onto your ipod and is thinner than silicone skins. But it won't help protect your ipod like other cases. My ipod still fits into my belt holster as well.

I applied this skin to my iPod Touch 2G and I like the way it looks. I especially like that I could download a matching wallpaper (a .jpg file, actually) from the gelaskins web site.

I am not at all artsy-craftsy, but I was able to position this thing correctly. It took me a few tries, but I got it just about perfect after a few minutes. I believe that the adhesive is formulated to allow several cycles of application and removal. I suggest that you start with a nice clean iPod.

The material is a thickish film. I don't know if it provides any impact protection, but it certainly prevents (or hides, in my case) scratches and scuffs. After a week of use, the adhesive is still sticking, even at the edges and corners.

My only complaint is that I was unable to obtain a perfectly smooth connection between this skin and my iPod. The iPod Touch 2G has a significantly curved back, especially at the corners. As a result, the skin exhibits small puckers at two...Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars does the job!, February 7, 2010

I have an iTouch temporarily, and wanted to keep it from getting too banged up while in my possession. This giant vinyl sticker is exactly the right thing for the job - adds a touch of color and personality, so I can't mistake mine for anyone else's. This particular design is just right for me: it's not too flashy, but whimsical (in the midst of the "traditional" blue willoware motif, there's a little person in a bright red jacket, as well as a small "Kafe" sign on one of the buildings.)

The only thing I don't completely like is that the installation was a bit finicky. I looked on the Gelaskins website to make sure this is compatible with the 3rd generation Touch, and they say it is, but you have to actually finesse it a bit to get the headphone jack, volume buttons, and other small features lined up with the cutouts in the sticker. I also haven't tried removing it, yet, so can't speak to how well it comes off.
