Elan form Graphite Iphone 3G

I purchased this case from Target in August of 2009 for $35. It just finally cracked after repeatedly dropping it over the course of 17 months. Very durable and slim, this case did not interfere with my invisibleSHIELD screen protector. This case would have easily been 5 stars if it weren't for the following caveats:

The easily removable bottom section for docking always seemed to easily remove itself inside my pocket. Quite annoying until I placed some tape on the back to prevent it from separating in my pocket. Since I don't dock it my self and it doesn't interfere with connecting the charging cable this was a functional and easy remedy, albeit not very aesthetically pleasing.

The faux chrome began peeling within four months, not a big deal except that the shiny flakes embedded themselves into my invisibleSHIELD which quickly became annoying for all the specks stuck on my screen. After sanding down the chrome off the frame to the screen I no longer had the...Read more

I purchased this case in Jan 2010 and within the last month (less than 3 months after purchase) the vinyl faux graphite backing is coming off on 3 corners. Essentially the glue that holds it on is failing. It's a material like faux leather. I had high hopes for this case as I liked it's looks and ease of use but I can't recommend it.

Just got this case from Amazon yesterday. So far, I LOVE it. It fits my iPhone 3G S perfectly and snugly. The lip on the front is just barely large enough so that I can lay my iPhone on it's face and the table won't touch the screen. The grey metal finish is beautiful on the front, top and bottom as well as the camera hole.

The carbon fiber black cross stitching looks and feels great. This case gives me all I wanted in an iPhone case; form fit, all button and connectors open, protection at all angles, elegant executive look and feels great in my hand.

I was standing in the Apple Store when I saw this case for $35. So I whipped out my iPhone and found it here on Amazon for nearly half the price. I've been through so many cases, I didn't want to chance getting another crappy case. I did a few weeks of research, thisis the best I found.
