I had no idea what to expect having never purchased an item like this before, but it turned out to fit the bill perfectly. It looks great, fits the HD perfectly, and it's easy to remove the device whenever you want to--I'm not a fan of those rubbery plasticky skins that are always on the device and obscure the beautiful design.

The belt clip is a really great feature of this case. First of all, the one on mine is very tight, so I know it's going to stay put. I like the added security of knowing I can actually secure it *to* something rather than having it just floating in some bag or pocket where it can easily fall out. Even when it's in my pocket I still clip it in there for peace of mind.

But attaching it to my waistband really works great. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I can still use the Zune without removing it from my hip--the screen is just that good that I can still see it perfectly even when viewing from almost directly above. This solves...Read more

When looking to get a case for my Zune HD all cases I found looked terrible or didn't protect the screen at all. Then I found the HipCase. Although I had to wait for it to actually be released, it was well worth the wait. All the buttons and both ports are easily accessible. I don't have a dock for my Zune so I'm not sure how well this case works on that, but for me I never have to take the Zune out of this case. The leather is very smooth and looks cool. For me it more than protects it from all that I do with it.

Overall this is a great case that would protect the screen and body of your Zune HD in almost all situations.

You know, sometimes an accessory almost "outdoes" the item it goes with (one that comes to mind is the Garmin nuvi friction mount.) Of, course, that is an exaggeration, but it's impressive to come up with an accessory that compliments an item so well.

I feel this little leather case is exactly one of those accessories. I received it a day after the Zune I had ordered, and I was immediately impressed. First of all, it is real leather (of the softest sort.) Sometimes an item advertises as leather when it is really a pseudo-leather, and I was happy that this was not. It is VERY luxurious feeling. That wouldn't mean a whole lot if it wasn't functional, but the Zune slides in perfectly (and stays there.) This protective case gives a whole new dimension to the Zune as now it can go in pockets, etc, without repercussions. The little magnet latch on the front is nifty as well.
