Black Leather Flip Case For Apple iPod iTouch 2ND GEN

Comment: First of all - the quality is OK. What you'd expect for the price. It fits the iPod touch (2nd gen)with no problems. Inexpensive leather case...I'm sure it would protect it if dropped, etc.

HOWEVER, the belt clip is NOT a belt clip. At best you may be able to thread a thin belt through it...but who wears those? Usually when they say "clip" it indicates something you could clip onto your clothing. This is not possible. It comes with a cheap leather strap and a hook mechanism that looks like it could fall off easily. The strap is a loop and can't be tied onto your clothes. You might be able to wear this around your neck? Or around your waste if you are a child.

THEN - my iPod started acting crazy in the case. I thought maybe it was getting old... random freezes and reboots, swirly lines on the screen, strange colored patterns on the screen...then it would go dead and couldn't be awakened. That is, until I took it out of the case for a period of time, then it came back and behaved normally. I have not used the case for a week and the problem hasn't come back. I put it in again just to check...and the problem is back in 15 minutes time. My conclusion? It has to be the magnets that keep the case closed.

SO- since the item was so inexpensive - I'm not bothering to return it. It's going straight into the garbage because I'd feel guilty donating the thing to GoodWill.

Comment: I would generally have to agree with all of the prior reviews I read before purchasing. The leather is clearly lower quality and the "belt loop" is non functional and should only be thought of as decorative. The strap which comes with the case, while functional, doesn't have a very reliable connection to the case and, if given an inadvertent tug at the wrong moment, would probably rip the connector loop off of the case. Another issue which was noted frequently by other reviewers, was the lack of strength of the magnetic closure. It is minimal, to say the least. A fly could push it apart. That said, the overall construction is quite adequate for my purposes. It does protect the device and, like my purposes, If you intend to keep the device in your briefcase or pocket for transport, will provide overall protection while allowing access to the face and plug-in ports. You may or may not have to take it out of the case to dock it, depending on the dock device and other adaptors used. It is not flimsy, however, it does have that cheap leather stench of excessive formaldehyde or leather dye or whatever. Probably just needs to be aired out for a month or two in the Gobi then worked with mineral oil. Look, I certainly didn't pay a lot for it and am quite satisfied with the functionality. It all depends what you're looking for and how much you want to pay. Given all of this, I would say it's fine for my needs.

Comment: Its really cool besides u have to take out the iPod to charge and play games that the screen is sideways

Comment: I use it if I don't carry my purse, then I clip it on my pocket or belt. It's a nice protective case for an ipod but it's kinda bulky.

Comment: Had it for two weeks now and no complaints. Works great, the fit is just right and so worth the money you pay for and then some.
