Anyone who has an iPad wants to protect it from scratches and dings. The flexible cover that most users have is fine for the screen, but what about the back? This Belkin Snap Shield is the answer. It was very easy to attach the shield to the iPad2, and there is a magnetic bar to hold your screen cover in place if you are not folding it up as you use your iPad. In addition to protecting the iPad from scratches, it also keeps fingerprints from the surface.
In my opinion, the only negative is price. When I first opened the box, I was astonished: Is this it? I wondered. I do not own any other protective shields, so I do not know if the less expensive ones are flimsier and therefore less effective. I do know, however, that I want to protect my iPad2 finish, and this cover will suit very nicely.

I purchased Apple's cover for my iPad 2 last spring, and it works very well at protecting the screen, but the Apple cover does nothing to protect the back of the iPad 2. This explains the need for the Snap Shield.
Not only does the Snap Shield protect the back of my iPad 2 from scratches, it also contains a steel strip that holds the Apple cover in place when I'm holding my iPad on my lap or reading it like a book. Frankly, this feature solves a problem that I didn't know I had, and it makes the iPad 2 even more enjoyable to use.
The Snap Shield is easy to attach and remove with large cut aways for the rear camera, headphones, volume controls and the iPad 2 dock connector. It's very thin and adds little weight to the iPad.
Finally, I should also point out that the Snap Shield has just the right texture to help me more securely hold on to my iPad. I have not dropped my iPad since installing the Snap Shield, so I don't know how well it cushions against...Read more

I am always concerned about scratching, bumping or even dropping my IPad2. When this became available through the Vine Program I jumped at the chance to get it. I was surprised when I opened the package....I thought "Is this it?" I wondered if that little piece of plastic looking thing would protect anything, but it does. It was easy to snap on & I do feel better about the protection of the IPad through daily use. I don't know if I would have purchased it at the price. It seems a little pricey to me. Overall I give it 4 stars.
