Belkin 2-Pack Silicone Sleeve Case for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Red/Gray)

[Note: These are identical with the Belkin "Vector" cases except for the stripes. So they cost 1/3 as much per sleeve. (Last Sept. it was over 1/4 as much.)]

What's the catch? 2 sleeve cases at half the going price of many single cases? No deception whatsoever. It's merely an ingeniously simple, quick, and effective way to assure that the silvery backside of your iPod remains untarnished and that if the precious device is, heaven forbid, dropped, some of the shock of the fall will be absorbed by the cover. The rubbery material is just thick enough to serve as a reasonably resilient and potentially protective bumper while remaining thin enough to permit operation of the iPod in virtually any speaker-dock without removal of the sleeve.

Of course, you'll need to spring for a portfolio-style case if you wish to protect the glass screen. (Or, if you're merely wary of scratches, you could cover it with one of those clinging, transparent sheets.) But face it...Read more

Anyone who has an iPod Touch can tell you that the thing collects fingerprints, smudges and scratches extremely easily. If left unprotected, it will become scratched by the end of the first few minutes of use. As soon as you put the thing down on a table, slide it around a bit, hand it to someone... you're toast.

Belkin has released this really nice 2-pack of silicone sleeves for the iPod touch that effectively protect your iPod case from getting all messed up. the screen is the only exposed area and that is easily cleaned up with any lens cloth or Apple provided cloth.

I like to keep things shiny and new for as long as possible so this case is a really great product for facilitating that. After pricing some of the other alternative products, some of them leather, I kept coming back to this because it was the perfect solution for me and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

The value for this two pack is great and the product does it's job in terms of covering the iPod Touch and protecting it; however, it is somewhat flimsy so I am not sure how much protection it offers other than keeping fingerprints and scratches off the Touch. I ended up buying an InCase Slider case which has a firm body for extra protection and also with a slider piece ideal for docking the iPod Touch.
